NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable opened fire and killed 4 of his colleagues and injured three others at a camp of the paramilitary force in Sukma, Chattisgarh, on Monday night.

According to reports, the incident occured at around 3-30 am following a browl among the CRPF personnel at its 50 battalion camp.

Suddenly, a jawan, identified as Reetesh Ranjan, fired at his colleagues with his service weapon, an AK 47 rifle and injured 7 personnel.

The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby where 4 were declared brought dead by the attending doctors.

Sources told media that one of the three CRPF personnel, who have been undergoing treatment, was critical.

The four CRPF personnel, who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident, have been identified as Rajmani Kumar Yadav, Rajiv Mondal, Dhanji and Dharmendra Kumar.
